Our Approach
Our "aim from your CORE" motto is a metaphor for how we offer a wholistic approach when assisting you or your team with diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and race education efforts. When thinking about your core in a physical sense, it is the center of your body that provides balance and stability. Strengthening your core helps you to become more well-rounded and harmonized with the rest of your body. Having a solid core also makes it easier to do other activities. All of these core benefits throughout your body also apply to how using our core approach will benefit your life and those around you in numerous ways, especially from a diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and race perspective.

Our Goal
Allow individuals, teams, and organizations to start where they are with respect to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. We will collaborate together to assess, plan, practice, evaluate, grow, and achieve results. We place value with each person, and given access to resources, support and time to develop will result in higher engagement, effective change, and increased and sustainable performance.
Why Second Layer?
The developmental nature of our approach allows us to mix challenging content, that helps participants learn new content, with active experiential learning techniques that challenge participants to develop new skills and competencies in a way that comfortably makes participants feel uncomfortable enough to be challenged, stretch, and grow. We know that individuals and organizations want to excel in regards to diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and race. We believe everyone has the right to start where they are. Through an organic human-centered developmental set of approaches, we strive to lead with experiential learning techniques that embrace and challenge every participant to develop new skills and hone competencies that use discomfort to grow and excel in their environment.
